Well...

I'm vowing now to update this blog at least three times a week, as I know I can find the time to do so. Haven't done much lately, just getting through schoolwork and ranting at Hulu for not letting me watch episodes of Heroes due to me being in little old New Zealand! Anyway, I found some lovely pictures, and I really want one of these! Wouldn't it be lovely to go to bed with your own moon watching over you? I think it would.

What I Bought

It's the first day of February, which means it's the last day of the summer holidays, which means I get back into school routine tomorrow. Even though the holidays are going to be over in just over 6 hours, that has not stopped me from going to Kikki-K and buying a few little things to make my school year a bit happier. Yesterday, I was at work, so bought a little present for myself, as I had had my eye on them for a while, and its a bit hard to focus when you have to work with these little things saying "look at me". So I decided to buy them. Yay!

Spiral bound notebook, pink Kompi pencil case, blue Kompi mouse pad and two pens, one with stripes and the other with giraffes. All from Kikki-K.

A family of three cats. So cute!

My ringbinder that I decorated. I just love pink!

I'm back!
One week left before school starts, and we get back into routine.
Have spent the last couple of weeks up at Paihia with no internet connection, which meant I was unable to update the blog. However I had lots of fun, what with going jet-boating, tall ship sailing and of course eating ice-cream while having a look in the shops up there. One shop in particular I really liked - Flying Fish Design. It is filled with some of the most crazy and not-so-crazy things, but I loved going in there and finding new stuff. I must have been in there like six or seven time in two weeks - slight obsession! Anyway, the owner, an absolutly lovely lady, gave me their website details, which lets you buy stuff online.  Check out www.flyingfishdesign.co.nz for some really great stuff. I bought the Fantail mirror, which looks wonderful. It makes me feel like I'm in a forest!

Some pictures now!

Books!

Yet some more piles of books! It was rather fun though, almost like a book fort except the walls were filled with some of the most amazing designs.

I love fairies! They are just so beautiful, and to quote Peter Pan, "I do believe in fairies!" These pictures are beautiful.

More lovely days await!

Yet Again

It's another day, another day working while the sun shines outside. Hmm. I found my bright pink hula hoop today in the garage, so decided to have a go on it. After I cleaned off the spiders while jumping around trying to avoid said spiders, I took it for a spin (no pun intended) outside. Somehow managed to scare the cat and almost hit myself in the head with it, so I will have another go at it tomorrow. Also have to have my fringe cut, as it is currently sitting halfway down my nose which is a very attractive look! Anyway, here's a fashion fix:

Busy Busy Busy!

It's Wednesday already, I can't believe it! I've been in the city, going to the university library to do research for my EE. I could not resist taking a photo of my pile of books, it's like a classic image of a student studying behind a massive pile of books.

The books are really fascinating; there is so much depth to them. Those who think fashion is a soft subject had better think again, it is not easy and requires a lot of thinking and understanding of design. Then again, it is fun looking at some of the designs - they are massively unwearable but look AMAZING!

I also found a really good sushi shop tucked down a little side street. So yummy, and cheaper than sushi places on the Shore! I shall be going there for lunch whenever I'm in town.

Below is a really cute summer outfit using ankle boots, which I made in a longing mood yesterday. I had these ankle boots brought up from Christchurch, however they need to be repaired as the bit of material on the inside of the boot by the heel was sewn on properly. Now I have to wait until the week after next to wear them, as they won't be ready until next week, which is when I'm away. So, I designed this set as a replacement for my boots... until I next see them.

While I was studying, I gave myself a little break (well, it was a lovely day and I didn't want to be cooped up inside all day) and went for a wander down Queen Street. I went into Recycle Boutique, and found a really cool draped waistcoat, however for some reason I just did not want to spend any money (must be the recession!). I also went into Little High Street, which is a group of shops inside next to High Street, and found this really cool looking dress with paint splashes over it. Instead of paying $45 for it, I'm planning to create my own, but I have to find somewhere where I can make a mess - I can't leave paint all over my bedroom!

Fun times await...

Falling For...

Wow. This set is totally different to any I have done before. It's quite dark, almost the sort of thing one would wear down South in Wellington or Dunedin. It's also strangely liberating in a way, like a 'tough don't mess with me' vibe.

I'm going into the city tomorrow, so I'm rather excited cos I plan on having a look in some of the vintage shops. I'm dreaming of finding a wonderful unique leather jacket or some really cool jewellery there, but I have to find some time to do that, as I'm supposed to be working on my EE and History research.

Pink and Green Flowers

Yay! The sun is out, the sky is blue with fluffy wisps of clouds; the colours are bright again. In order to celebrate, here is a pretty pink and green set. Doesn't it make one want to go to a garden party?

Later today we are going to take down our Christmas tree, which will be sad as I love looking at it with the lights turned on at night. Also, I shall be continuing with my holiday homework, even though the sun is shining.

Splash of Colour

Quite dreary today, very hot; the forecasted thunderstorms have not arrived but the rain has, so the sky looks rather angry. To cheer myself up, I'm listening to Boogie Wonderland on the Happy Feet soundtrack, which is so upbeat. To add some colour to my day, here is a set inspired by paint splatters, which look like art themselves, sometimes even more arty than so called 'artworks' themselves.

I'm now off to work a set that reminds me of the sun, hopefully it will turn out well.

All About Alice

I suddenly remembered one of my favourite stories - Alice in Wonderland. I love thinking about what she would look like, as the blue dress, blonde hair and blue ribbon in the hair are such wonderful images of purity and happiness. Below is my modern-day interpretation of Alice. Enjoy!

Gig Outfits

A couple of weeks ago, I was sitting at home, watching Spiderman 3 and daydreaming, when suddenly my phone went. The message was from my dad, who said that we had got tickets on the door for the Supergroove and Elememo P gig at The Powerstation that night. Of course I started jumping around all excited, until my cousin sent an email to my dad saying that he didn't know if I would be able to get in, as the gig was R18, and I am a mere 17yrs. So, I was extra careful in picking my outfit and applying my makeup, as I had to look 18yrs old. It wasn't too hard though, and in the end I got inside The Powerstation! The gig was really good, Supergroove and Elemeno P both rocked out hard. It was one of the best nights out I've had for a while. Got home after midnight, and was late to work the next day due to sleeping in (oops!).
Below is an outfit I would love to wear if I was going to any other gigs like this:

Summer Chic

Well, I've finally done a set specifically for summer. Yay! Of course, I don't go to the beach or the pool dressed like this, but if I was going somewhere VERY posh, like a fancy hotel in Dubai or an exclusive resort in the Maldives, I might wear something like this:

Happy New Year!

Time to start anew people! Think positive, dare to dream and above all, have fun! I'm determined to make this a year to remember, which it should be, as I'm now in my final year of school. I have got New Year resolutions, which I'm not going to post on here, but one of them is to try and update this blog regularly, which means I'm going to have to do some serious time management in order to fit everything in. Being the good girl that I am, I skipped along to one of my favourite shops, kikki-K (ok, my most utterly favourite stationary shop), to organize my year with some of the most beautiful stationary. Below is my year planner, which is going to sit on my wall in my bedroom and glare at me so I won't be able to hide from school.

Isn't it just gorgeous? I don't really want to write on it for fear of spoiling the lovely cleanness of it, but I must. Later, when school starts I shall post a picture of it all written on. However, to counteract the sadness of writing on the lovely clean planner, I also got myself a cute multicoloured pen, which just happen to be from kikki-K as well! (Can you see the pattern yet? This is not the same pattern as my pen, (mine has pink, blue, yellow, green & brown stripes), but it is the same style. Anyway, as you can see, I'm all organized to be organized, but we won't be able to tell whether I have succeeded in being organized until the end of the year.
Wish me luck!
